Experience
Mr. Bien has been chief legal officer and advisor to several privately held international manufacturing and distribution companies. His work has covered contracts, litigation/arbitration, intellectual property, real estate, employment, collective bargaining and general business advice with particular emphasis on negotiating and drafting contracts for the purchase, sale, manufacture and distribution of products in the U.S. and abroad, the acquisition and/or establishment of foreign subsidiaries, the acquisition, protection and licensing of patents, trademarks and other intellectual property, and project and bank financing.
Mr. Bien speaks fluent French.

Education
Mr. Bien was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He holds a BA with honors and distinction in History and Mathematics (1975), a JD, cum laude (1978) from the University of Michigan, and an LLM in International and Comparative Law (1979) from the Free University of Brussels (VUB).
